This series of blogs is both a reflection and a continuation.
In The Works, a journey in seeing, I follow my paintings from the earliest works to the present. Not to create a complete overview, but to trace what has repeated, shifted, and deepened over time.
Much of what I recognize in my work now was already present from the beginning though still unnamed.
What has gradually come into focus is not only what appears, but the space in which it appears.
A painting does not arise only from forms, lines, or colors. It also emerges from what lies in between. From what cannot be fixed or fully grasped.
Perhaps that is where the work keeps returning:not to an image, but to a field.
A space that holds.
The texts in this series follow that movement. They move alongside the work, without trying to define it.
Perhaps this is also how they are best read: not as explanations, but as a way of seeing.
A way of seeing that slows down.
And leaves space for what cannot yet be named.
